Who I am and What I Like
I am 66 years old (born July 19th 1946 in Atlanta GA), and I have been married to a United Methodist minister (for 37 years). We have one adult daughter and one cat named Hannabelle. I am a church musician and recently retired from my job as a church secretary. I am a "rabid" photographer and a would-be writer, working currently on a book of daily devotionals with my photos and a friend's thoughts. We hope to publish this in time for Christmas 2013 gift-giving, so stay tuned!!
I was adopted when I was five months old for the first time, and again when I was 14 years old following the death of my first adopted father when I was six and my first adopted mother almost three years after that. I was raised by my Godparents, my mom's sister and her husband, and I have a sister eight years younger than I am who was my cousin prior to the second adoption.
I've struggled with a number of health issues in recent years, and still have to manage some chronic conditions, but that struggle has made me a stronger and better person for the effort. I face some new, rather serious, health concerns in the coming days, and I ask for your good wishes and prayers concerning the outcome of whatever procedures and treatments may be coming my way.
I love reading and playing the piano and organ. I also love attracting and feeding songbirds and raising Swallowtail butterflies in my "spare" time. I have loved the beach - particularly Jekyll Island - all my life, and have recently learned to love the North Carolina mountains almost as much. I'm absolutely enthralled with the Blue Ridge Parkway!!!
My love for Christmas - all things Christmas - is a year round love as I
believe that Christmas is more an attitude of the heart than it is a day
on a calendar page.
Thanks for stopping by and for reading my blog!! You are appreciated :)
